Is my 05 possessed
I recently purchased an S2000 and have noticed on a couple of occasions a very strange smell that can only be described as if someone has been sick. The first time was after getting into the car after it had been driven rather hard, it had been standing for a couple of hours. After checking that some idiot had not thrown up over it, I then checked the engine/exhaust to see if there was any signs of oil or something else that could be the source of the smell. Now it has happened a few times and I am at a loss, car as each time the car has been driven normally before. The car will be going in for its 18k service very soon but I was wondering if anyone had come across this and has the answer. Not sure my local Honda dealer will carry out an exocism :-)

could be a leak somewhere in the car. Check all carpets to see if it is wet. Dry it up and start looking for a leak. My trunk leaked, smelled so bad i dried it up and still looking for my leak.

Sounds like you burnt the clutch during some hard launches or shifts. The OEM friction disc has organic lining that will smell bad when slipped. It will stink for a while and eventually disappear.

I did wonder if it was a clutch issue as when I brought the car I was a little unsure re the clutch, it seemed to be not a very smooth gear change ok when warm. Sales guy said its a competetion clutch so is a little notchy. Checked with other Honda garages and they were like if its sold through an approved Honda dealer then all should be ok. What is the score re the OEM friction disc, as said I have noticed the smell from driving the car from cold so no slips of clutch through hard driving, maybe a worn/sticking clutch.
