Murphy's law - car almost sold and now it dies

The vehicle was taken to a transmission place - turns out the diff is completely shot.
The quote is the equivalent of $7000 for a new one from Honda SA, excluding labour - what are my alternatives?
Bare in mind - I'm in South Africa - I see there's one or two available on eBay - but really worried about shipping a second hand diff to South Africa - only to discover its also buggered.
I also just want the vehicle repaired so I can sell it- I'm not really interested in spending a fortune on an upgraded diff.

Found two - one from hardtopguy with an estimated 45,000 miles.
And one through a local guy, also from the US with 91,000 miles, unfortunately no guarantee can be offered on this...
I also discovered I can't import one myself without a permit.... and it looks like I won't be able to get one.
Going to push my local guy to go for the one from hardtopguy - hopefully between them they can work out the logistics.

Did you try to fix it yourself? I have a hard time believing your dif is that broken from your description. Did they take the dif apart and determine that?

They took it to pieces, told me I'm welcome to come have a look...
Apparently the housing is also damaged where the one axle connects.
Not too concerned, the price of landing another one here from the US, is less that what a repair of a diff with local parts would cost over here.
