Mugen Power?
Just wondering if anyone has had experience with this setup:
I have talked myself out of getting a supercharger, decided I wanted to go NA instead, and I want to do the Mugen thing on my 2003. I know the stuff is pricey, so I don't need a lecture on that. What I am wondering is, what kind of gains can be seen with this combo: Mugen sport exhaust (in transit right now), mugen intake, mugen cooling mods (fan switch and thermostat), mugen header, and mugen ecu? I know the stuff is supposed to make a huge difference in the midrange, but what about the peak? I know the mugen s2k that car and driver tested was up about 15 peak HP, but I also saw the dyno from the King Motorsports Mugen SS car, which had this combo and it looked like nothing else, showing a max of 222 whp, which I would observe to be a gain larger than 15 hp. Anyone have any input. Oh and one other thing, if I add this stuff and lighten my car a total of 100 lbs, will it really be a noticeable felt difference?
Thanks-
Bob

The difference would be noticable but for the money itink you would be a little disapointed. I might add the spoon ecu instead of mugens and go with the spoon head gasget, throttle body and cams. mybe you even would want and AEM adn some really good tuning i think you mihgt be a little more happy with that. Also i realize you may really want an all mugen car but if i were to tune NA and use one companys parts i would look at Amuse header, exhaust and body components for light weight and go with a mugen intake. This is the set up that amuse uses to crush people on the touge wiht amuse's coilovers and volk ce28n 17x9 all the way around. just some thoughts =)

mugen is nice, but its just too expensive and a little too much jdm. im going to use some spoon parts on my S: snorkel, header. most of the other parts will not be spoon or mugen though.

Those parts are about $5000 total, right? Assuming you do get 15 HP from it, do you think it would make the car $5000 worth more enjoyable? You could get 15 HP (+/-) just from installing and tuning an EMS!
