wow wtf don't u value ur money? +infinity to that worst idea. If he agreed to do all the job at $950, then he should do it at that price. He can't simply give shit excuses and jack the price up to like $1500. That's freaking almost $600 man. Consideration is required for both sides here since this is pretty much a contract, he can't simply jack up the price. You're being fooled like a kid. He is supposed to perform this job within a reasonable time frame. I don't know much about engine swap, but according to other members, it seems like he's taking WAY TOO long.

I used to have a Civic (with a D16) where my friend and I swapped in a B16A. It took the two of us 8 hours to do the swap while drinking beer and eating pork rinds. He charged me $200 for the labor.

here is a better question why didn't you opt for doing it yourself if your complaning about the price of the swap. I've done the very same thing you did to your eng and to save me the $$ I've decied to do my swap my self to prevent some jackass, like this mechanic of yours, from doing the same thing to me. And forgive me mechanics out there but some of you guys would charge an arm and a leg if you saw a hot car like the S2000 come into your shop and you know it! its all in who you know and how willing you are to trust them with your baby.
