whats up guys i haven't been on in a wile but I really need some help the car is a stock 01 s2k and my motor has a rattle after 2 grand I narrowed it down to the rear of the valve cover iv been told it is prob the lower valve spring retainers I just want to know if any 1 has dealt with this prob be 4 thanks for any help that can be given

Broken retainers dont make noise. you need to post a vid clip.

maybe check valve clearances, have you considered bottom end problems?

ya i listened to the motor top n bottom and the trany WITH A SCOPE anD the only place noise wAS COMING FROM WAS IN THE HEAD RIGHT BEHIND THE OIL CAP
