Default Motor mounts

Here's what I did today. The other day driving I gave it some generous throttle going around a corner, noticed the shifter moving quite a bit. Got me thinking, 150k probably could use motor mounts. I ordered, from Evasive the Innovative set (75a) and go about replacement. As I'm pulling them off, I couldn't believe it!!! No signs of oil leaking or anything. Look like they've been this way for some time. Have only had this S2k for about 2k miles. It's an AP1 with 150k on it. Advice for any of the high milers out there...check your motor mounts, just cuz there's no signs of leaking doesn't mean you don't have an issue.

Install was was a breeze, took prolly an hour or so, measured by 4 beers and a Moscow Mule. Vibration is way more pronounced but not a big deal to me as I autocross, revving at idle the body of the car now torques from the engine, it's great!!

check your mounts if you haven't in a while!!!

Both of mine at 146k mi were torn in half like that. I could see some really old dried up orange splatter around the driver's mount, but none on the passenger side.

I tossed in aftermarket OEM style mounts, they seem to be working just fine, no real vibration increase to speak of as you'd expect. Hopefully they'll last for another 100k mi.

At least the stock mounts allow for the "capture plate" which holds things mostly together if the mount fails. Some cars just have the engine flopping over and destroying stuff when the mount lets go.

Did you get the billet mounts? Did you get all the correct hardware?

A torque damper can help preserve motor mounts...

Didn't get the billet ones just the regular steel 3 piece kit. Had two wrong nuts and one missing washer but I had extras in the garage so not a big deal

I actually thought something in the suspension was broken because the car felt like it was wobbling around a lot. I guess it was from the engine shifting around, maybe.
