Default MOTEC ECU

I stumbled across this site whilst searching for performance mods. Has anyone used a MOTEC ECU with just an exhaust and achieved such gains as this.
They claim a massive 27% increase in power.
Tell me what you guys think.

This had been debated at great length before. The consensus is it's pretty much BS.

Not to mention to costs involved with fitting a Motec ECU are far greater than just the ECU. Custom wiring harnesses, and sensors need to be fitted as well. The AEM EMS is the only stand-alone ECU that interfaces with the stock engine harness.

No wonder it felt like he only wanted me to use the Motec ECU even when i asked about the AEM ECU.
Thanks Slows2k for the info...now at least i wont waste my time and money on what he had quoted me.
Just another quick question.
Is the AEM ECU fully programmable???

Yes, the EMS is completely programmable.

That article was debunked years ago. The power they claim is nothing extraordinary, but the base line they use is so low it's embarassing. That's how they come to 25% increase.

BTW, I use the AEM. It is much cheaper, plug and tune, and has all the features of the necessary features. Chris Barry is even using one on his F20C powered Clubman and he's a Motec reseller/tuner. For price and straightforward install you can't beat it.
