Most restrictive part of the exhaust

Most restrictive part of the exhaust
Hello, I do not really want to buy an exhaust system for the car, I live by an exhaust shop, and just kind of want to modify my stock exhaust, I just wanted to know if anyone knows exactly what is the most restrictive parts in our stock exhaust (AP1 if it matters)? I was thinking of a HFC and magnaflow mufflers, I just want a deeper, slightly more aggressive sound, while opening up the exhaust a little bit, I really do not want any drone whatsoever, nor do I want an increase in volume, this is my daily driver, I have been driving loud cars since I was 16, I am tired of going 20 miles and having my ears bleed.

It turns out that the only substantial restriction is the part the law requires, the cat. The stock system is engineered to be free flowing and eliminate drone so it is hard to find an aftermarket system or mod. The Helmholtz resonator (little pipe stub) is configured for the stock system to eliminate drone.
Talk to a few here to see what has worked but in my experience it is difficult to get a little more aggressive sound without a little drone. Even my Mugen system that is considered very mild has a bit of drone at certain loads.

everyone I know that installed a s2000 specific Magnaflow exhaust system has hated it due to drone. If you just want better sound consider having the UK exhaust mod done by an exhaust shop. As far as performance check out the gernpipe that is sold by gernby on this site, it looks to be the most promising exhaust mod from what I've seen.

As far as I'm concerned my Fujitsubo LegalisR has only a little drone at low throttle.
What I mean is: when slowly accelerating with low throttle you can hear what could be a drone.
IMO its very little, as soon as the revs climb a bit its gone.
It's different from OEM.
The T and the bend following it in the OEM system is what I would call the most restrictive.
By looking at it.
Flow data will most likely show its fine.

The stock exhaust flows very well and I don't think any one part is more or less restrictive than another. If you remove the factory CAT you will get a little more sound and only about 3 to 5 Hp gain. As for a little more sound from the stock exhaust try the UK mod as a few have posted. You get no drone and the better sounding tone comes in at around 4500 RPMs. The exhaust sounds stock quiet below 4500 RPM so it is not hard to deal with for the daily drive. Here is a link on my UK mod along with some video sound clips. https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/101...art-2-3-31-13/
