Default More Toda Camshaft news

As you know, Toda told me that the camshafts will be released in March or April. I emailed them with a few other questions that some of you guys had for them. Here is the response:

Brandon,

Below are the answers to your questions.

1. What are the expected HP gains?
1A) Expect a 12~16hp gain with stock head and bottom end, although final numbers could be a bit higher.

2. Will these be CARB legal
2A) No, we don't plan to certify them with CARB and smog legality was not one of the design criteria when the camshafts were being designed.

3. What compression ratios will these support?
3A) They will work with stock compression and TODA high compression pistons. We cannot release the TODA piston compression numbers until they are available for sale.

If your board members are interested in these camshafts, we can compile an e-mail list that will keep them update with the release and arrival of the TODA F20C camshafts. If so, please send us a list of e-mails.

Best regards,
AKH/TODA

I'm VERY interested. Can you add my email address to the list? reverendjohn@earthlink.net

Also, I have three questions, if you get a chance to ask them...
1. Will this require a higher rev limit?
2. What tuning, if any, will be required and what do they recommend using for this tuning?
3. I take it the high compression pistons wont be usable for those of us running crappy So. Cal 91 octane, right?

We Got 94 Octane at the pumps up here BABY!!! Finally, A reason why it's worth staying in CANADA!!
As for tuning I think the only thing we can tinker with (without getting into the ECU) is fuel press. Spark timing is fully electronic and From the way the Timing Chain is setup on our cars, I highly doubt we'll see Adj. Cam Pulleys.

Mee too.......I'm very interested. I put the Civic Type R JDM cams in my CRX B16A and it totally transformed the car. If these Toda cams are anything like that.............WOAH baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You'll need a better, freer-breathing exhaust I suspect.......
