I haven't had a chance to use the painted strips to tell the rotor temps - I'm sure the gun works just as good minus the degrees the rotor has cooled before checking the temps -
I have had numerous problems with the rear rotors overheating and getting warped on light to moderate track use.

No - after the Greens tanked on me, I pretty much gave up on EBC. Mostly because they have scored everyone's rotors who used them - and the Greens are a street pad. EBC specifically says that they don't score the rotors.
I will say that they barely dusted at all - and what was on there, wiped right off

I am using both gun and rotor paint . I put paint on all four rotors duing test . Two weeks ago at track I put on 400 ,600 and 900 , neither the fronts nor the rear rotors reached 600 . I was using stock rear brake pads . I use the gun to check calipers , hats , wheels and other items . I do check rotors with gun and it shows temperatures under 600 also.

Brad -
It's a long way off - but I am running the car at Sebring in December with Chin. I would like to pick up some of those paint strips from you and compare my numbers to yours. The car stays on the track for min of 30 - 45 mins. I also run track pads not the stock ones - In December I will have a set of Carbotechs in the calipers.
What do you think?

I can get you rotor paint, no problem . If you have any track time before than you should be able to determine temperature that you are running by doing 10 or so laps . I don't know time per lap at Sebring . At Nelson Ledges we were running 1-25 to 1-30 per lap 10 to 12 laps per time out . The thing to watch is front braking capability if that starts to go the rear will follow immediately . If you are going to use stock parts ( all but pads) I would add air ducts in front and think about trimming dust shield where it covers rotor face that pad runs on. I talked to Eric at the BM today they still don't have #3 pads done for stock caliper . The # 3 pad wears quickly but it's very rotor friendly and it will take full range of temperatures, with out changing friction characteristics.

Was thinking about running at Homestead in October, but the drive is muurrrrder (Side Show Bob voice). And in November we are running an 8 hour endurance go cart event in Jax. Hello to no kidneys.. Which leaves the next event at Sebring.
Please update on the #3 Hawks - once they are released. I currently run, reluctantly, a set of SS lines - which effectively bumped me out of AS. The 17" TEs didnt help either. Our region is non-competitive so no one has protested.
I ran about 20-30 laps at AMS and the brakes worked great - Motul helped but we had other S2000s there running on full stock set ups just fine. Not saying they werent pushing it, but no one was checking temps and everyone stayed off the wall.
Isnt the rotor temp paint little strips that change color when hot?

The number 3# pad is made by Brake Man . The rotor paint comes in bottle like finger nail polish only larger . Brush is attached to cap. When paint reaches temperature it loses color .
