I just thought about the MAP too. I've had some weird hesitation because of the sensor. After I "own3d" it with a screwdriver handle it went away.

Never had serious abrubt hesitation tho.

I've got a new spare MAP I'll throw on ............ although the screw driver handle treatment does sound refreshing

The only time I've ever had anything like that happen was when my knee knocked the ignition key and turned the car off. But, that lasted awhile as I fumbled around trying to figure out WTF happened. Needless to say I no longer have the key attached to anything.

When you say "like someone turned the ignition key off" do you also mean to imply that the speedo and tach lights went out?

Do you still have an ESM installed? Because it sounds like a loose wire possibly associated with the MAP sensor.

No Dave, the speedo and everything stayed on. I'll check the ESM wires too, good idea. Probably should have thought of that myself after vapors2k mentioned the V-AFC wiring ........... but hey, what are friends for

BTW, I still have one of you spare Ghostbooters laying around somewhere ....... do you need me to dig that up and get it back to you? Sorry

Oh neat I was just wondering if I was alone.

Yesterday turn 6@Spokane, more than a half tank o' gas.

The engine would stumble just before apex and then smooth out by turn exit. Hardly sounds like the duration that you were experiencing though. I wouldn't think anything of a single instance but it happened two laps in a row. After pitting scratching my head and then trying to get a reproduction of behavior: NO DICE. Give me a ring at home and we'll compare notes. I should have it on video as well.
