Default molding my lip into bumper: question

well im going to have my amuse lip molded into my bumper for many reasons... anyway i cant really go without my car for too long.. and the place is going to take a while to mold / paint it.. so i was just going to borrow another bumper from a friend, and drop my bumper / lip off at the shop.. my question is: is it bad to have them mold the lip w/o the bumper being on the car?

I don't see why it would be bad as long as everything comes out even looking and not one side crooked than the other......so no I don't think theres any problem with just leaving the bumper to them.....

You arent supposed to mold things like a lip when the bumper in NOT on the car. It WILL change the shape of the bumper, to the point where you will crack the paint if you bend it back. Dont do it, and have it done on the car.

FYI, Amuse lip is a terrible lip to get molded, especially if it is fiberglass.

My advice to you....just put it on the regular way, then mix some clear silicone with berlina black paint. Pipe it in the joint and spread it properly, thinning out as you go up. I challenge you to tell me the lip isnt molded from 5 feet away.

my lip isn't fiberglass,, it's urethane,, only 40 tiny bolts with some fibers and a good sanding and you're done

First decent pothole in the states, and your lip will fly right off.

Ive hit my lip MANY times, and if it was molded, it would have cracked off in a hurry.

What's the best knockoff Amuse lip anyways? I've heard the original Amuse lip dosen't have the best fit and finish and that it's fiberglass. What are some of the other options out there?

Thanks.
