So I went to take my IAC valve off today for some cleaning due to the rough idle symptom, and when I got it off there was quite a bit of moisture built up on the inside of the thing. Is this normal, or is it time for a new IAC?

It's been a few months since I cleaned mine out. There are 3 chambers in the valve, if I recall two chambers were wet with coolant, one chamber was carboned up and relatively dry. The carboned chamber with rollers required the most cleaning. Once I did mine my idle has been rock solid. Worked very well with brake or throttle body cleaner and I let it soak for a while with the chambers full of fluid.

Going from what I remember, the 2 hoses go into the 1 closed chamber on the IAC (maybe to cool the IAC and/or that part of the manifold)? The other 2 were connected via the chamber with rollers.
I used TB cleaner I got at Autozone. When I started the car, I forgot to reconnect the IAC immediately triggering a CEL and aweful idle! I reset the ECU and after waiting the 10 minutes for it to re-learn the idle, it's been great. The IAC valve seems to proactively do its thing when it's about to hit idle RPM rather than doing it after a delay (and I guess that delay makes the RPMs drop to 400-600, making it shudder).

It was coolant...helps tell the computer the temp of the motor,( idles up to warm the motor and then back down) and regulate the valve..im sure someone will fully elaborate on its functionality.
