Default Mobile1 Pepboys Deal?

I saw this advertised while I was in Pepboys today...good 2/28-4/3...Ad Link

Is this a good deal...$6/quart? (thats $10M after LA tax ) I am about to change my S oil for the first time ever (had dealer do it after I bought it in 12/08). FWIW, its taken me ~15 months to put on 5K miles. 5W-30 is fine as I only street drive in Socal temps 40-90F? I have the Honda OEM filter already so I guess I would just forgo the Mobile filter.

$24/5gal? Really? That's $1.20/qt. Did a quick search, Amazon has Edge at $50/6qt.

Walmart has a 5quart Jug for I think $22 or $24 bucks. Don't know how much a filter costs...should be cheaper from Walmart

That seems to be the same deal at local Advance Auto Stores too.

That's a pretty good deal for synthetic oil. Autozone and Schucks also have simlar deals ocassionally for the Castrol Syntec and Mobil 1 Synthetic for around $26.99 to 28.99.

Honestly, I have yet to see an engine throw a rod, seize, explode, or wear prematurely and die just from using a certain type of oil that the popular mass deems to be less superior than the preferred oil. lol...

There are a couple of oils that I actually prefer over the others. However one of my UOA's indicated that my then 32,000 miles 2001 Sienna would fail soon due to "high metal counts". Without taking that UOA seriously and without switching to another type of oil, this engine is still running strong at 350,000 miles. UOA just seems to make things sound worse than they really are so you would send them another pay cheque to analyze your oil again. It's almost like a vicious cycle, UOA.

I thought so, but I had to ask I'm not hooked on any particular oil brand so I'll check out Walmart and what they carry.
