... If Honda states that some cars can go 7500 miles between oil and filter changes, then why question if the filter can last that long?
... If you are using the Honda filter now, why switch later? If something works, why mess with it?

The owner's manual and maintenance schedule is a pretty good guide on the "care and feeding" of your S2000. The only place I believe Honda was a bit remiss is in regards to differential fluid maintenance. Although the diff is more than adequate to do the job for which it was designed, I feel that it is quite small, along with a very small fluid volume. Considering how some people use the car (or abuse it), diff fluid maintenance should have been "highlighted" more than it is. It would be wise to change that out within the first few thousand miles and then do it every 10K to 15K miles (or annually) after that.
We also seem to see a lot of posts about clutch issues. Here too, it would be wise to tend to clutch fluid maintenance every couple of years. This is not specifically mentioned in the manual, but rather, thrown into a general category of "fluid checks".
Please note that you must be very judicious in what fluid you put into the rear diff. Many Honda dealers will mistakenly put the wrong fluid in and destroy your diff. Reading the "Oil Journals" at the top of Under the Hood may save you some grief and also help enlighten you as to some of the choices available to you.
