btw, this link lists the M1-104 surface area at 107.8 sq inches (695.5 square cm) and the Filtech at 148.5 sq inches (958.1 sq cm), so I'm still throwing the bs flag on "double the surface area" claim

I really don't know but one advantage Honda filters (may)have is that they are produced to Hondas specs. Many people will find some comfort in this fact and should accept that Honda filters are absolutly correct for the S2000. Personally , I'm comfortable with any "name" brand filter and consider routine maintainance much more important than the name on a filter. Stick with the known "names" and if the name happens to be Honda, maybe better yet for those truly concerned. After all, we are not only trying to do the best thing for our car, we are also treating ourselves to some peace of mind.

I just report what I measured.
so lets not make this another locked thread. Wait about half a year more (after my two UOA's) to lock er down.
