No reference, but converting it over to inches squared, its similar to another measurement made.
Sorry, my explanation wasnt clear. I measured four pleats length, then divided by 4 to get less measurment error per pleat. Its as close as possible without pulling ALL the pleats and measuring the entire thing, which might be WORSE, since now its going to deform if you give it slack, stretch fi you tighten it.

these are mass produced filters, quality is going to vary slightly from filter to filter...cut open 10 PCX examples and 10 M1 examples, it's a toss up in quality of construction (I've seen other threads where M1s were cut open and they always get high praise, perhaps this was a 'lemon")....actually , K&Ns should be thrown in for comparison as well
as someone else has said, if you change the filter regularly and use a good quality synethetic, it probably doesn't matter what filter you use, Fram, Purolator, whatever, it's not going to be that big of a diff...I usually get M1s at a discounted price, or "free" with some kind of special, so I'll keep using them unless particle count analysis proves they are inferior
I'll never use Honda brand consumables (or Kawasaki, or Yamaha, or whatever) because I pay them to build vehicles, not produce oil or filters, it's not what they're good at

fine....show me that the fram/PCX performs well compared to ANYTHING, instead of the knee-jerk "it must be better because it's a Honda specific part and oil pressure is just too high"
I have limited data concerning performance, yes...you have ZERO....and I don't buy that it has double the media area, either

You seem to enjoy trolling these PCX threads while misrepresenting information on BITOG as slipstream posted.
I am surprised that, in your extensive research that you no doubt have conducted to come to the ultimate conclusion that the M1 filter is better in every measurable way than the filter made specifically for your car, you did not find that the PCX is made by Filtech/Toyo Roki and not Fram as are many of the other Honda filters.

Blah. This is all pure speculation. I doubt the S2000 engine runs significantly higher oil pressure than other high performance engines like the turbo rotary in my RX-7. The M1 filters are documented to perform very well, let's wait for the particulate counts from leakyballs before making these types of impressive sounding, yet completely unsubstantiated pronouncements. Good leakdown results for your particular engine prove not a damn thing about filter performance.
