?

I judge a filter based on performance, I don't know about you. I could care less how many holes are drilled in the baseplate.
Well constructed items USUALLY (not necessarily) mean a better engineered product.

I measured four pleats side by side, divided the number by 4. Counted pleats 3-4 time just to make sure, and the height was between the top cap and the bottom cap.
hmmmm....I'm not sure this is a legit way to calculate filter surface area, do you have a reference?

No reference, but converting it over to inches squared, its similar to another measurement made.

Sorry, my explanation wasnt clear. I measured four pleats length, then divided by 4 to get less measurment error per pleat. Its as close as possible without pulling ALL the pleats and measuring the entire thing, which might be WORSE, since now its going to deform if you give it slack, stretch fi you tighten it.

Most people don't even realize that Exxon and Mobil gas stations aren't even "top tier" due to weak additive package.

These are the standards developed by four automobile manufacturers (BMW, General Motors, Honda, and Toyota) for TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline.
