Default Mobil 1 Mobilube SHC LS 75W-90

Hi,

my diff behaves a little bit strange in the last time. It has be exchanged before 3000 Mph by a honda dealer. By now I the back of the car "shakes" (feels like the diff locks a little bit) when I start off in 1st gear oder reverse gear when the car is warmed up already. When the car is cold, everything is fine.

So I would like to change the diff oil, to see if this helps. Through the search function, I found out that a Mobil 1 75W-90 Oil is the one to choose. On the homepage of Mobil 1 I found several different type of 75W-90 Oils.

So since the one I posted in the topic, should work for limitet slip differentials, I think this should work out fine. Do you think so too?

If anybody has an idea what else could solve my little problem described above, please tell me.

Thank you very much.

Chris

I talked to a technician of Exxon and he told me, that for the S2000 the Mobilube 75W-90 SHC (without the LS -> the Limited Slip Additives) is recommended. He says, that the S2000 does not need the LS-Additives as far as the specifications from Honda are. So I orderd that stuff by now.

And what do you think about my "diff locking" issue?

Thank you very much.

The shakes upon acceleration usually indicates a bad CV joint. A problem with the LSD on this car is more likely to surface during slow to moderate turns with high steering angle.

Perhaps I did not describe it clearly.

But I ment slow turns from 0 km/h up to 10 km/h. This shaking only appears on the first couple meters, when starting to drive from a still stand, while steering in some direction (while parking or something for example).

Shaking upon engaging the clutch from a stillstand, er, I mean standstill could very well be a sign of a warped pressure plate.

pm your phone# to xviper. I'm sure he can give you some insight through a verbal conversation.

I had some bad luck with my car... the engine and the clutch are new (800 miles old). Talking on the phone might be expensive, because I am in germany....
