Saw an ad im a mag for Mobil 1 Extended Performance.

Just wondering what people on the board thought about it, and if it's better then using regular mobil 1??
Anyone running it?

does matter. there both the same...it all depends on your driving habits. I tried Mobil 1 extended one because they were out of the original one. so i thought it was gonna last longer but around 3k miles later the oil was dirty and was up for an oil change...then again i dont drive like grandma and like 8k alot. but it will probably last you longer if your dont rev past 3k, no track, no nothing and only going to work and grocery store. BUT this oil might be good for the good ol` beater which you just drive to work and back

Mobil 1 clamis that "contains 50 percent more SuperSyn than Mobil 1."

Is this a good thing for S2ks?

Mobil 1 EP is a much better oil than standard Mobil 1.
It provides better wear protection, is less volatile and lasts longer. Standard Mobil 1 is NOT the same product. This is from an Amsoil guy.
I will not use standard Mobil 1, but would use Mobil 1 EP if Amsoil or Redline were not available.
Every test Amsoil publishes shows that Mobil 1 EP is significantly better than standard Mobil 1 - not at the same level as Amsoil 10W30 (ATM), but overall is a pretty darn good oil.

"Dirty" (as in dark) oil is not necessarily bad oil - that's a myth. Oil analysis is the only way to tell if the oil is going bad - color alone is not a valid test. Oil will naturally get darker as it's heat cycled - this does not mean the oil is breaking down or is dirty - it's a normal process.

^I have noticed though, that although color may not be an indication, the M1EP does stay 'clear' longer

^slip knows what youre talking about. ALL mobil1 products are fully synth, the mobil products that arent dont have the '1' in it. its mobil5000 or something.
