#1 - You're warming the engine up a lot slower than driving.
#2 - You're washing the oil off the cylinder walls running rich/cold.
#3 - You're creating a lot more acidic combustion byproducts running rich/cold that ruin your engine oil.
#4 - You're only warming up the engine (a bit) and not the trans, diff, CV's, ect.
#5 - Running the engine without driving means: no oil flow through the trans, just a little oil splashing around.
In short: it's bad practice.

What a bunch of idiotic and B S responses are posted. 
All the car is doing idiling to warm up. No oil change will change the warm up procedure for the car.
2k rpm is normal. All my honda cars do this in the morning.
