Mixing Oils?
Hey,
My roommate has a 4Runner and wants to know if it's kosher to mix 10W40 with 10W30. I live in the Bay Area so it doesn't get below freezing.
TIA,

i'd say if the car calls for 10w-40 of 10w-30 then use it don't mix it.

My Prelude lists 5W30. Yesterday, when I changed the oil, I only had three quarts, so I snagged a quart of 10W30 from the S2K oil stash. This is not the first time, and my car has 166k miles and runs like a champ.
