With just 6400 miles, something could be wrong. Is this the AP-2? Then it may already the new honda MTL. If nothing else works, then have it checked out by a mechanic. Does anyone know if these trannys need time to break in?

yeah MTL-P sounds like the way to go. although their website says they're not filling any orders at this time
Are you getting this message at checkout? I'm able to get all the way to checkout and it doesn't say anything about not filling orders. I already have some so I don't want to buy any more.

You might want to call them.

Sorry, I tried e-mailing Specialty Formulations (SF).

It is an AP2 My05.

Anybody have a phone number for SF?

I use the honda mtf that came out before the "so-called New" stuff, and never have this problem.

I tried the new MTF. It was such a light weight oil, the trans sounded like it was going to fall out of the car. In addition, it was harder to shift. The linkages didn't seem to be getting lubricated enough.
sounds like you need to have your tranny opened up and checked out. i don't recall others saying it made their tranny harder to shift??

my testing after 2000 miles on the new Honda MTF continues to be smoother cold shifting, smoother fast shifting when at operating temps.

Apparently they're in the process of moving:

According to a post by MolaKule on BITOG website last month, he still hasn't found a new location for blending and storing additives and base oils. It looks like this product is not available for the time being.

Ok here is the scoop.

I switch back to Honda MTF HG fluid and after 150 miles I can honestly say it is better than the GMSMFM stuff.

The 1>2 shift doesn't crunch as much. I have only crunched it 2 x at low rpm less than 4500. At high rpm 7000+ it is smooth as silk in the 1>2 shift! If I shift at 15mph no crunch at all! Shift at 20-25mph gives a little crunch. But I can eliminate this, if I just pause for a second before dumping it in 2nd.

2>3 is good as well! And, all the others are fine!

It takes about 10 minutes to warm up, but I am ok with that!

So, I think for now I am going to stick with the Honda Fluid MTF HG!

One thing I was wondering is, how much of a factor the trans and motor mounts play in this? I was thinking of buying some after market mounts that are stiffer all around to keep the engine and transmission more rigid.

Are there any higher durometer mounts out there that I could use on MY05 AP2?

Lastly, I was ready to try Redline MT-90, but I am going to hold and see what happens with the Honda Stuff

i use 2 different redlines mixed together in a 1:2 ratio in my VR4's transmission, certainly wont hurt to try.

One more vote for SF MTL-P

And it has a nice color too.

And it smells like fruit syrup.</span>
