Default A mix of GMSFM And Honda Transfluid

I am using the GMSMFM in the car and it works pretty good. But the car gets a little more notchy in the 1>2 as it warms up.

So, I have been thinking maybe a mix of GMSMFM and Honda Manual Trans Fluid might not be a bad idea.

I'm thinking I would like to increase the oil weight a little bit more from say a high 20 weight for the GMSMFM to a reasonable 30 weight using Honda Manual Tranmission Fluid. Should increase the friction a little bit.

What does everyone think about this?

Any other suggestions?

Rob

I tried the new MTF. It was such a light weight oil, the trans sounded like it was going to fall out of the car. In addition, it was harder to shift. The linkages didn't seem to be getting lubricated enough.

WRX owners use mixtures all the time.. a friend was telling me what he puts in his and it included 3 different gear oils. I don't remember what though and I have no further input

You may want to consider Specialty Formulations MTL-P.

I would really like to try specialty formulations stuff! But as indicated they are not open for business.

The GMSMFM has only 700 miles on it. It works pretty good, but when the tranny warms up fully it gets notchy int the 1>2 shift.

There has got to be something a little better.

Amsoil? - Anyone got some longer term experience with this?

Redline? - anyone got some longer term experience with this?

I do drive this car hard at times, but it only has 6400 miles and I can't see how this could be a snchro issue. Especially when I babied the thing for the first 4500 miles.

Some NSX owners are mixing 2 qts GMSMFM with 1 qt of Honda MTF.

Keep posting everyone.

Gernby, What's your thoughts?
