If your accelerating to redline and it hits a few times before shifting to the next gear can you cause an overrev or is there a rev limiter for that too?

You will ONLY over-rev from a mechanical force, in other words, if you release the clutch with the transmission in a gear at a speed higher than you could acheive at the fuel cut off for the gear. If you put it in 2nd gear at 90mph, yes, you will over rev, if you put it in nuetral at 0, 5, 50, 100, 150mph and bounce off the fuel cut, you will NOT over rev.
