Misfiring
Hey guys,
I have been having trouble for awhile with intermittent CEL and random misfires. Even when there is no CEL, there could still be misfires felt and heard.
I brought the car over to a friend once and we tracked it down to this "VALVE ASSY., SECOND AIR" part off the fuel rail according to the parts manual. We noticed some white salt that is apparently indicative of burnt fuel according to my friend.

Look for a yellowish plastic cap right on the fuel rail.
We popped off the white cap and found that the screw in the middle of it came off so we screwed it back in. With some adjusting of that screw the misfires went away. Later I would find that it was only a quick fix. I found myself having to constantly retighten and adjusting that screw every so often to get rid of the misfires. Now I can't do that anymore because the screw has been stripped at the top from me doing it so often.
What do you guys think the problem is? Has this been a problem for anyone else before? Should I just replace the part?
Any help would be much appreciated.

That part is not the Secondary Air Valve....the Secondary Air Valve is in the back of the intake manifold and looks like an "EGR" valve..... this could be where your problem lies.
