i just had a similar issue..im not 100% sure im in the clear, but im not feeling or hearing any more misfires...I got a valve adjustment done. Some were a little tight, i forgot which ones..shop around for a valve adjustment...I ended up going to a s2000 specialist, not caring what the price maybe. Paid very little compared to what the honda dealerships were charging

I called 3 dealerships in my area. Quotes were:

189.99
218.99
265.99

make sure u got to a reputable shop. I'd rather pay more and have a peace of mind.

Also i changed out coil packs from 2 k24s, 1 set from ap1, had my injectors checked, installed new plugs and messed with the map sensor to see if any of those were the culprit

The maintenance manual had trouble shooting guides for the misfires. I doubt your JDM expert has this manual.

Since 1399 is a "pending" code one suggestion is run the car until it isolates what cylinder has the problem.

I got 1399 pending after leaving college yesterday, and then when I got home it cleared the pending code.. Not sure how this computer works, but so far no CEL's have popped up and I'm running the last of my seafoam today. So far, so good, the guy who sold me the car had gotten into a bad motorcycle accident and said the rebuilt engine had been sitting for months. The title indicated 800 miles over 1 year of use, so I suspected my fuel delivery system may be the culprit and I hope I'm right.
