misfire problem AP1
Hi all
I'm new to this forum hope this is the right place to write up the post about my s2000 problem. Recently my car is starting to misfire at idle. It's 2001 AP1 S2000 factory condition apart from exhaust, VAFC2 controller (tuned) and cold air intake kit. I have noticed the misfire 2months ago and it's getting worse it only happens at idle and no check engine light. The car seems to be running well and goes into vtec without any problems. So far I have done valve adjustment, brand new spark plug, changed one Honda genuine coil pack and still can hear misfiring. I have researched on the other s2k forum and says could be the injectors causing misfiring. Does anybody know what is causing this problem?? The engine done 130000kms

I know some people here have issues with the injectors. You can send them in and have them cleaned and flow checked usually for under $100. If you do a bit of research you will find others that have had bad coil packs and low compression cause their issues as well. Any one of those things will cause a misfire. Compression and leakdown are easy to check. Injectors will require sending them in or taking them somewhere where a flowbench is located. As far as I know there is not really an awesome way to check the coils. Obviously a visual inspection and maybe a resistance test, but that would be about all. Also don't forget to check the spark plugs.

i have done the compression test and the result came out good and got brand new set of NGK laser platinium (PFR7G-11S 7772) from the guy who also drives s2000 so i think the spark plug suitable for my s2000?
