I have a 2000 s2000. Ran it low on gas. 2 days later i park after a drive i hear the engine different starts shaking. And CEL starts flashing i check it cylinder 4 misfire. I also have a CEL for TPS and for canister. Any ideas what it could be? Ill be running a compression test tmrw and will get new spark plugs and check the coil packs. The car used to jerk occasionally at cruising speed. But never had CEL.

Swap injector/coil/plugs with a good cylinder to see if you can isolate the fault to one component (assuming it is bad). e.g. see if the misfire follows the cylinder or the part.

Otherwise do a valve adjustment, compression test and leakdown test for further investigation.

I have switched out injectors that was for sure not the problem. Cylinder 4 was still bad. I will switch coil packs tmrw and im doing all brand new spark plugs anyways. It needs it. What if car has no compression?

I'm sure there will be some conpression but it will be very low assuming if the coil is not the problem.

If compression turns out low do a leakdown test. Your exhaust valve seats may be leaking.
