Default misfire on all 4 cylinders. Please help!

Hey guys, my check engine light came on a few days ago with the codes p0301 (misfire cylinder 1) p0302 (misfire cylinder 2) p0303 (misfire cylinder 3) p0304 (misfire cylinder 4). I was wondering if any of you guys have had a similar problem that you have fixed. Also it came up with a code a few months back that went away for a while (p1457- evap system leak) I don't know if this could possibly tie into what is happening with the cylinders. Any suggestions help. thanks!

Evap system leak is usually because of a loose gas cap, that's nothing really, and will go away on it's own once you tighten it, although having a dirty pvc can help trigger the code. I would check your spark plugs, look in the tube first, see if the tubes have oil in them. Oil in the coil makes my blood boil crazy like those who wear hats of aluminum foil. If you have oil in the tube you could have bad seals, replace them, and if that's the case you will also need to replace your plugs because the second you take them out they will get fouled with oil. The coil packs don't like oil too much so clean them out. If you replace the plugs and clean the packs and replace the seals(along with the valve cover gasket) and you still have the misfires then the problem is likely either your coil packs, or valve related.

P1457 is not the gas cap code, that's p1456. And it also has nothing to do with the pcv

If it comes back, here's a good start with your p1457 code.

Read the whole thread. There should be no relation between your cyl misfire and this code.

As far as your misfire codes, Try looking up some misfire threads.. There's plenty of info to dig through. As suggested, take a look at the plugs...what are the miles on them? Then starting from the bottom up, comp test/leak down test, etc. make sure you have a solid foundation before you start buying coil packs and injectors.

-Had a valve adjustment recently?

-can you feel the car missing? If so, does it happen mainly at idle?

-are those the only codes you got? Did they just all appear at once, or have you been riding with the check engine light for some time?
