Metal sheen in engine oil

Yeah I noticed that too. Checked the retainers at the same time, didn't see any damage. None of them appeared to be sunken down or cracked.

As a followup, I did a UOA and it came back clean, except for higher silicon levels. Did not see anything concerning in the drain pan - it was most likely stuff embedded in my old drain pan that freaked me out.

Silicone is usually dirt/sand, how's the air filter? Then again we can easily let dirt in the engine popping off the valve cover or even topping off the oil with a dirty funnel.

Air filter is a Takeda Intake, it appears to be fine. I did have the VC off for valve adjustment and gasket replacement. I wipe the funnel off pretty good when filling so it shouldn't be a problem.

We'll see what the levels are at with the next UOA.
