Face it. You've been abusing your S2000 for 6 years now. Tracking a street car is the definition of abuse. Any idiot can see that. Ask Honda whether they consider tracking an S2000 to be abuse or not. I know what my dealer will say.

I abuse the crap out of my car on the track. It does things that the designers never intended. I don't pretend it doesn't hurt the car though. I don't "respect" my car. It's a learning tool, nothing more. It helps teach me to drive. When it wears out, I'll get another one.

As for being "belligerant" you seem to be acting pretty defensive here not me. I haven't called you any names or said anything about you personally.

I won't post any more on this topic so, you can go away happy.

Wow, OK, so we have two camps here. One camp is better than eveyone becasue they don't do clutch dumps cause they are scared. The second group says, screw it, have fun and then fix it.

I'm in the second group. I do clutch dumps because I auto-x. I do Pro Solo and Mirrorkhana. It's advantageous when competing in timed events that start from a stand still to get a good launch. A good launch in our cars requires a certain amount of wheel spin.

I promise this is my last post on the topic. Rock on s2k'ers...

Furthermore, an agressive clutch-dump launch that induces wheelspin is less abusive on the differential than launching at a lower RPM or one with clutch slippage. A wheelspin launch places the wear and "abuse" on the tires with less shock loading on the differential. If you slip the clutch during an agressive launch say goodbye to the organic lining of the friction disc.

I'm curious what the original poster found was wrong with the car and hope he will post the results so that we can learn something from his experience.

What's the update with the damage?
Are you too scare to post the result during during the heated argument? They just have way too much time

It could be a busted gearbox gear and a broken axle too.

Whoa... a broken driveshaft. That's the first I've heard of that. Interesting. Where exactly did it break? Front or rear joint?
