Messed my s up bad
Got a level 2 ACT clutch and Flywheel put in about a month ago. 55k miles. 18 inch 265 y rated tires.
Yesterday, went to do a launch/Burnout....
and dropped the clutch at 7k, and loud clunk and no power.
Now, If in gear it sounds like something is spinning at the front of the car, around where my feet are.
Figured broken drive shaft at the clutch?
Any ideas...i am waiting to hear what the shop says......

You could have simply put it in 1st and let her idle while you got out of the car and looked to see what was spinning.
I broke the drive side axle and did this test and saw that the driver side inner cv joint was spinning but the axle was not.
My money says it's your axle.
Report back please.

Everybody knows the drivetrain is weak in the S2000. So let me understand this, you get an aftermarket stronger clutch, larger stickier rear tires, rev it up to 7000 rpm and dump the clutch. Allow me to ask the hard question. WHY? Are you trying to win the Darwin award?
Please tell us when you find out what you broke. My bet is on the pinion but it could be several different things.

Whatever. If he's got the money to fix it. I see no reason to criticise. A car's just a toy to play with. If he enjoys dropping the clutch at 7K RPM who are we to give him a hard time about it?
People who track their S2000's are no different. They're tearing them up just as surely as this guy even though it doesn't happen as quickly.

I agree that if he wants to beat the hell out of his car, no one but his wife/mother has a reason to point fingers and lecture him. He will pay (literally) for his own actions.
