MES service connector (SRS light)

That's very strange the light is not turning off. Unless your jumper wire is not making positive contact between the two pins in the connector, I don't have a clue.
Are you using 1 jumper wire to jump the two pins? or have 2 wires and twisting them together? I ask, because I was having issues getting the light to turn off as well (I was using 2 wires). It needs a positive solid contact for it to work right. If you're not using one wire, try it again doing so.

What im not understanding is, (unless im doing the procedure wrong and not getting the wires hooked up).. Even if theres a problem, the reset procedure should still work, yet the light would just come back on. If the light never turned off at all the reset procedure would be obsolete. Know what i mean?

I've never had an aftermarket steering wheel, but correct me if I'm wrong in saying that it elimnated the air bag (driver side). Our SRS units are self diagnosing, and it does not need to be reset manually. If the light stays on after 6 seconds with the Key ON, then you have a fault in the SRS system and the air bags have been disabled. Take a scan tool to it and read what the problem is.

The airbag light will not go off on its own.
It has to be rest with the paper clip. connect-disconnect procedure.
Jumping the terminal and turning the key on will do squat. Its not turning off they way you are doing it because there is a code. Follow the sequence to CLEAR OUT the code and the light will go off...you will get blink a confirmation when done correctly. After the blink, if the code repeats due to a problem, the light will come back on.
