No, I havnt looked under the valve cover yet, I really dont even want to. My car barely starts and runs and have no compression in 2 cylinders, I'm sure its done for. I was going from top of 3rd to 4th, when I accidently went into 2nd gear. Not sure how fast I was going but it was probably what ever the top speed in 3rd is in f20c. Now this is the second time this has happened. The first time it was all good, no problems, this second time definitely did it for me. Just be carefull to not do it again. And I only had 30k miles on the car. I guess with every problem that arrises there is always a good solution, hopefully before spring i'll be sporting some type of bad ass new engine.
Better learn to shift before you put that new engine in. Inside the cockpit, slow is fast. No need to rush the shift.

I installed a digital tachometer and programmable LED shift light that records highest rpm achieved. So, if I ever 'money shift' I'll know exactly what rpm it hit as the digital tachometer can record up to 13,000rpm. Pretty sure the motor can't hold that rpm anyway.

Does the S2000's rev limiter kill the ignition, the fuel, or both?

I'm thinking that if the rev limiter kills the ignition, then that aftermarket tachometer might not read anything higher than the rev limiter's programmed cut off point which would leave you not knowing anything beyond what you already know.

Just wondering?

Fuel, I think.
