I use my aunt bertha's gravy in my diff!

Anywho glad he is taking the time to do the work correctly. Kudos to that.

The fact you had to ask and was advised differently doesn't bode well for confidence. The invoice should detail everything correctly and you should've been advised when you picked up your car.

Take it easy while that 10W30 is in your transmission.

The 10W-30 in the tranny won't hurt a thing. The wrong fluid in the diff, however, is a very serious problem. You need to confirm that it is the correct spec.

OP said he req'd Honda MTF. The guy did something else instead. If he didn't have the MTF on hand he should have held off on the work and notified the customer, not wing it.

10w30 used long term in the transmission will damage the syncro teeth, 100% guaranteed.
