Master cylinder?
Hey guys,
I used to get a brake bleed and end up with a super firm pedal.
Now, after a gravity bleed by a respected Motorsports shop, then another gravity bleed by me, then another gravity bleed by a respected mechanic, then another vacuum bleed by the same mechanic (after a change to new brake pads and rotors, as well as stainless brake lines) ... My brake pedal is still kind of mushy with too much travel.
There's no way it's a bad bleed after so many of them, by different people, and in different ways. It's shouldn't be the pads after a pad switch, and it's not the rotors since they are new ... As are the lines.
There's no CEL. Do you think installing a new master cylinder will fix this issue? The brakes still work. It's just that the pedal travel and feel is a bit inconsistent. And it goes down annoyingly low, making heel-toe downshifting under hard braking more difficult than it used to be (because my foot hits the side I the gas pedal as I swing it over). I've continued to autocross, but I'm scared to go to the track, since something might be wrong and be magnified at the worst possible moment ...
Thanks for any help ...
Tom
