Malfuntion Indicator Light - Intermitant

For us here across the pond, a MIL is a Maintenance Indicator Light. It is of little importance and only a reminder for maintenance. The important one is a CEL or Check Engine Light. This IS important especially if flashing.
You need to tell people what codes are recorded before anyone can really help. Here, most auto parts stores have a code reader and can give you the codes for free. This is because we use a standardized On Board Diagnostics Type 2 (OBDII) electrical port on all cars sold in North America. I don't know if it is the same there or not. Regardless, the Dealer can certainly give you the codes.

These are the same light on both continents. The OP describes it correctly.
MRI = Maintenance Required Indicator
This is not a CEL or a MIL.
I don't think the OP is asking about an MRI.
Get the codes/DTC's like SheDrivesIt say's.
