Default Maitenance Required Light, Just changed the MTF

Hello I have a 2004 MY and I just changed my manual transmission fluid. When I turn the car on the maintenance required light blinks quite a few times then turns off after like 15 seconds of blinking...

I think I may have put to much MTF fluid in as I filled the tranny only jacking the driver side up... is there a down side to putting a bit more MTF this way?

also could that be causing the light to blink?

sorry if this is a dumb question!

Thanks in advance.

!... the maintenance light is for engine oil only....if its staying on, that means you need an oil change, if not then dont worry about it.

The maintenance light comes on after so many miles, period. The ECU does not know you did an oil change so it doesn't do an auto reset. Keep track of your maintenance and you can ignore that light.

Or you can just reset it. Instructions are in the user manual.

yeah the "maintenance required" light is just an oil change reminder based upon mileage, just reset the thing every time it pops up. more annoying than anything in regards to oil reminding...

Look in the FAQ for the technique to reset. I'm pretty sure it's hold down the RESET button on the cluster with the car off, and turn the key to on. Continue holding until the Maintenance Req'd light stops blinking. Let go of the button, turn they key to off, and that should be it. But don't quote me, read the FAQs on here.
