Maintenance Required
Driving on my way home from work today the maintenance req'd light blinked 5-6x in a row the went off. Shortly after that i noticed the car seemed bogged. Its got fresh oil, new plugs, the transmission and differential fluids that will be changed this weekend. I suppose for now I will reset the ECU and wack the MAP sensor and hope that does the trick. Is the light blinking like that jsut a reminder of service intervals? Or could it be something bigger? The CEL light never came on btw.

maint. req'd light is triggered only by your odometer. it has nothing to due with your engine so the bogging was prob complete coincidence (or paranoia that something was about to happen since you saw the light -- i've been guilty of that when i see that CEL go off).
when your CEL goes off and does not blink, it's something not determental but you should look into way it's been triggered ASAP.
when your CEL blinks, it means something more catastrophic is wrong and you should turn off the car and take it in.
for how to reset your maint. req'd, look at the sticky on the top of this forum. there's a link there how to turn it off. i'm having a brain fart atm to tell you off the top of my head.

I know how to reset the the light, but it never stays on... it just blinks a few times and goes off. And you could be right, i do tend to get paranoid with things... especially when ive had a string of things happen with my car the past 3 weeks im alot more sensitive to situations like this. Anyways, i reset the ecu and smacked the MAP drove the car to the store. Get back in start it up and the light blinked again and went off. Eventho its not staying on should i still do the reset procedure?

yep. it'll make it so it doesn't come on at all until the next mileage interval. the light gets a little more aggressive as you state the longer you take to reset it for those who don't like to give the car the love it should get.
