hello all, quick question i hope someone can answer because i looked on the site and didn't find an answer.\
i was driving home from the shore this weekend and i noticed that my maintenance reminder light flashed for a short while and went away. the car currently has around 20,500 when it happened. it is a MY02.
1) is there anything i should do or worry about. the tranny fluid and diff fluid are fresh and the oil was changed about 2500 miles ago, about a month ago.
2) how do i make the light stop flashing.? im sure it will start to flash when i start the car up and eventually stay lit? i don't drive the car to much and i havn't started it since this weekend. any guidance would help and im sorry if this has been covered. Damian.

Oh snap, it's flashing and you drove on it? You probably did serious damage to the motor. Such a low mileage car too.
No, I'm just kidding. It's you're oil change light. Should start blinking at 6000 or 6500 miles since it was last reset and stay on fully at 7500. No biggie.

oh, and -
" To reset the maintenance required indicator, turn the ignition switch to the LOCK position, then press and hold the trip meter reset button while you turn the ignition switch ON. Continue holding the button until the indicator resets ( the indicator light goes out)."
