Magnetic drain plugs are good for diagnosing possible engine trouble.

It's good to put the magnetic oil drain plug on for "extra" protection. I've been using it on my 91 Civic and I do remove particles on the plug at every oil change. Thanks for the info, now I can order one for my s2.

I would like to see some company come up with a magnet that could mount to say the valve cover and be cleaned from time to time.

Notice I did not say for protection - the pieces you usually accumulate are so tiny that they are inconsequential - the real advantage of a drain plug magnet is to look for larger pieces, which are often precursors of major engine problems; that is, a "tattletale" device.

Glad you liked it. Price is right, and those gaskets are the bomb.

RR, that was common sense when engine block and/or head were made of cast iron. With modern cars, including the S2000, using aluminium, the diagnostic function of these magnetic drain plugs is reduced. Don't you agree?

I'd like to see a one that uses a better magnet (like a neodymium one). Those those are so much stronger than the cheap ceramic magnets I always see on drain plugs.
