If the timing chain tensioner needs replacement the gold standard is Billman's. I don't want to mistakenly quote @Billman250 but I recall him noting he's never/rarely had to replace a worn out timing chain in the several hundred S2000 enginess he worked on. He should see this and confirm or tactfully correct me.

Since you're not removing thehead yourself, which we all kinda initially assumed, something else important that hasn't yet been covered (bc we didn't know to mention).

On this engine, you can't simply remove all the bolts and remove head. The head bolts have to be loosened a little at a time, in a prescribed sequence, and prescribed amount to loosen (in degrees) for each iteration of the sequence.

Obviously, there is also a similar concept for tightening these bolts (which also sb replaced). Tightening sequence has been a thing since beginning of time. Loosening sequence is common these days on many modern engines, but not all shops can be trusted to follow it.

So if you would have gotten perfect shop to send it to, but random shop to remove head, you could be setting yourself up for finger pointing.

Shop phones it in. Takes 0 care working on it. When it fails, they blame machine shop YOU CHOOSE. Machine shop blames mechanic. You're stuck in middle.

Going to a place that will send it to THEIR machine shop, and knows if it even sb sent, and machine shop knows what special considerations for this motor, avoids all that.

TLDR; go to LHT
