But thanks for posting information - If I were this guy, and followed your instructions, I would be WTF is up, and that I had to buy these parts, probably have to wait on them to come in, and have my car out of commission for a couple days. Next time, have some sort of an idea about what you are doing before you post.
I don't think he was implying that the OP should *intentionally* snap the stud off. He was simply saying that if the OP is prepared for the stud to snap off, then it would be less disappointing if it happened. And if it didn't happen (which it didn't), then the OP would be relieved.

You could tighten your lug nuts to 40 lbs on most cars and light trucks and be safe all day long.
I've had lugs come loose on the track when torqued to 80 ft-lb. However, it was only one particular set of OEM S2000 wheels. I now suspect they may have been warped or damaged in some way.

1-9 steps

None of which include; Buying a bearing, pressing out the bearing, pressing in the bearing, etc

I see no relief in that.

Let's look at it like this:

If you had no clue what you were doing - followed these steps - then found out that a few were missing - you would be a little angry...no?

Assume the worst, and trick yourself into being happy when it doesn't happen
