lowering vtech?

at 3K, in VTEC the engine will feel like a dog. With such high lift, it won't make much power because there won't be enough airflow.

The reason for VTEC is so that the engine has both high and low end power. there are 2 distint torque curves. the S's high lift lobe is for power at 8-9K rpm, completely different from the lobe for the low end.

has anyone experience with it coming on at say 4500? real experience?

I think the Greddy E-manage system also has vtec engagment capability. But I went with a VAFC.... but if you want to go all out I'd go with the AEM EMS...

Personally I think dropping the vtec to 4500 on an s2 is way to low... the main reason to drop the vtec is to have it engage smoother because when vtec engages there's a slight drop in hp before it kicks in.. so by lowering the vtec to around 5600 to 5800 will usually eliminate the slight drop off...
