Default lowering vtech?

just wanted to know what device is needed to lower the the rpm that vtech kicks in? i did a search but a whole bunch of crap comes up that has nothing to do with it.

The easiest solution is the Apexi V-AFC piggyback computer.

Jackson Racing also makes a VTEC controler that is easy, you just turn a knob to the desired RPM and it's set.

realy just by turning a knob? has anyone else done this that can tell me their sotpf(seat of the pants feel).

what would be a down side to this?

A full standalone (i.e. AEM) would be better.

What RPM do you plan to lower it to?

Some folks make the mistake of thinking that since vtec is cool at 6k, it be really sweet if it kicked in at 3k.
