Default lowering springs install

do i need a spring compressor or can i do it without one

Yes to get stock springs off. If youre doing coilovers, no...since youll be replacing the whole shock/spring unit.

thank u! i was able to get away with changing stock springs out in other cars was hoping i could do the same with the S

It is possible to do it without the compessor, it's just not the right/safe way to do it.

On most coilover sets you will need to recycle the top hats, so you would need a spring compressor.
No biggie though, they are cheap and easy.

I did it without compressors. I just took a t-shirt and wound it tightly around the spring getting as tight as possible. It didn't "pop" all that much. I would suggest a compressor for safetly but if you know what you're doing, they aren't required like in other cars...

ok so i installed them earlier this evening me and my buddy did it with no compressor install went smooth. =)
