Low RPM ticking coming from seems like the head.

which could be in need of a valve adjustment - the ecu usually learns that, so it may seem like the sound goes away.
it could either be TCT or a Piston

timing chain tensioner.
it could be a midget tapping out SOS from inside the fender too.
try to post some info to back up you're ideas to help the OP out.

ticking noise coming from ... the front top of my engine.
Its seems to only show up ... in the lower rpm range.
It is not completely constant though and I dont notice it in higher rpms.
there...
it could be loose valves.

yeah, it could be, but you post no information to back that up...

The ecu cannot make the sound of a valve train that's out of adjustment go away. Nothing the ecu can do with regard to ignition timing or injector timing will silence valve tick. A valve train out of adjustment is always going to make noise. It doesn't go away. It's highly unlikely that a piston is making that tapping noise either. He would have all sorts of other issues if that were the case.
if you say the ecu can't do anything about it. then how does the noise go away?
anyways, we've already had people with 4th piston problem.
my friend actually had a 4th piston problem too which he though was the TCT.
there are videos on youtube with piston problems that sound just like TCT.
there's also a thread on TCT, and some people ended up having 4th piston problems.

i never said ignition timing or injector timing will silence anything. The ecu can do many more things beyond just that. the OP said the sound goes away later on. the ecu can do alot more than you think.

As for the 4th cylinder issues. That only comes up from people who abuse their cars, much fewer percentage of the population than those that have the TCT problem, and like I said, if that were the case, he would be dealing with a lot more issues than just tick. I.e. unusually high oil consumption, loss of power, etc.

The ecu CAN'T silence valve tick.
Here's how...
Pull the kick plate.
Disconnect the ECU plugs
Remove the ECU retaining bolts
Remove the ECU
Replace the kick plate
No more valve tick.

TCT will repeat much more rapidly than a valve or piston. It sounds similar to a baseball card in the spokes of a bike wheel. They sound different enough that the two should never be mistaken. It could also be an injector(s) though, which often is mistaken for a noisy valve.
