Low Rpm stutter with A/C on
2006 BB - completely stock
Background story: The s2000 usually stutters a little bit in lower RPM's until it gets warmed up after some driving while the AC is on. It does this in neutral or with the clutch in coming up to red lights or stop signs. I would say the normal idle is 1k, it drops to 850-900 and shakes the entire car. Almost like it doesnt have enough fuel or air. It always recovers and resumes 1k idle.
Yesterday, the car has been sitting 12 hours after a 250 mile trip the previous night with no issues and the A/C running. Started her up late afternoon no issue with the normal stutter, pulled out to the first stop light and she died on me. Took a second to start back up but eventually returned to no issue after some driving around.
I would like to fix this problem with no stuttering. Oh S2ki masters, how do I do this?

I've had that too but I'm wondering if it's because of my installation of an aftermarket intake and exhaust with no tuning. I blip the throttle at stop lights to keep the revs up but I wish I could just have it idle at 1,000 - 1,200 RPM.

I had a similar problem without the car actually dying on me but I cleaned the iacv on the s2k and it fixed my problem maybe it'll help you too...here's the video I watched and cleaned it with just some break cleaner and some q tips and mine came out good...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMMU...e_gdata_player

His car has DBW, so no IAC valve. Same as mine. I have the same issue occasionally when I run my A/C. I guess it's just one of those quirks about the car. I don't worry about it too much, just give it a small blip of the gas if it feels like it's shuddering.

Running across puts a strain on the system it is a common thing in most cars.there are all sorts of homegrown ways people claim to help fix this.from tuning.to upgrading ground wires to high output alternators etc.

I have this problem too and now I'm starting to think that this car just has this problem. I've done practically everything except replace parts. I did have a ball bearing in one of my coolant lines though, thats fixed now.
MY01
Miles: 80K
Performed:
1) MAP whack
2) Cleaned the IAC, did not rebuild it.
I don't have any problems when the A/C is off now, this is after I removed the ball bearing mod someone did...idiot.

i read awhile back that the car just has to get used to the temps or something. Not really sure whats the situation but try the disconnect the battery reset method and see how that goes? It usually happens to me too, but only in summertimes during the 95+ degree weathers when i have ac on, otherwise the ac is never on anyways.
