You're worrying about THAT?
C'mon.. are you serious?
The engine starts and the light is gone.
What more do you want?

It's every first start up .. after that pressure remains at just under 6 bar i think at 2800rpms + or something close to 3000rpm.

Just it never used to be like that... and I get very worried about oil starvation so shut your mouth!! haha

My '03 is just about the same with Mobile1 10W30. It takes longer to go out after changing oil which makes sense, but this appears to be very normal to me.

I guess it's good to notice and question differences in things, so no harm done.

I'm sorry, but Magnatec ain't true syn oil.
Its a mineral base oil, GRIII.
Check out the SDS (Safety Data Sheet)
Chapter 3, Composition: chemically modified base oil.
Usually that's an indication of GRIII base oil.
Chapter 13, Disposal, unused oil: 13 02 05: mineral-based non-chlorinated.
There you have it.
Now check the same chapters in the SDS of Edge oils and you'll see what I mean.

Don't get me wrong, the Magnatec looks like to be good stuff and with a hot visc. of 9,46 cSt, nice-and-thin, it's flowing like a wild river at 9000 rpm.
No oil starvation issues there.
No need to have it changed either.

I don't know what you payed for it, you really should check out the UK based Amsoil website and ask for a quote for a case of SSO 0W-30, true full syn oil.
Maybe the quote will change your mind for the next oil to use.
Option: ask for 9 quarts of SSO, 2 quarts of MTF and 1 quart of SG 75W-110.
You'll have an all Amsoil car

I'm sorry if this starts to look like an Amsoil ad.
Honestly: if the Shell Helix Ultra-X 0W-30 would still be available I would use that.

i had the same problem with my car. it was never a problem until it started getting cold. the oil light would randomly turn on for like 5 seconds about 3 times on my way to or from work. this was with mobil 1 10w30. my last oil change was with amsoil, twice the price but i dont get that problem anymore.

I'll guarantee it wasn't the Mobil 1. You might want to have the oil pressure checked - if the light came on for ANY reason, there's etiher an electrical fault in the indicator section or something's seriously wrong, such as excessive wear in the main bearings or oil pump.

I don't mean to resurrect this ancient thread, but I'm having a similar problem only mine makes a slight noise on start up.

I put the key in, wait a sec, turn it over. The light hesitates a half second but during that time I hear a slight ticking sound (sounds like really loud valve train noise.) until the light goes off. It started after I changed my oil recently. I've ran mobil1 5w30 since I got it last august. (2006 with 48,000miles) I switched from a Fram filter back to a Honda one on my last oil chance, 2000 miles ago.

It only does it on random startups, I just pulled it in my buddys shop from a cold start and after 45 min I went to pull it out and it did it.

Is it just lack of oil in the head? Lack of oil pressure? Oil pump? Can anybody point me in the right direction?

Thank you
